PEDAALI ANNUAL AWARD IN MUSEUM PEDAGOGY

With its annual award, Pedaali wants to promote museum education and to raise awareness of public engagement work among the general public.

The association’s board selects the winner out of the projects suggested before the set deadline. Anyone can send suggestions. People can even suggest their own work. However, the award is granted to a topical project or practice, so a person cannot be suggested.

The award includes a trophy and a diploma.

2015 “Adopt a monument” (Pirkanmaa provincial museum)
2014 “The circus horses are under the weather” a pedagogical conservation project of a public monument (The Kerava Art Museum and the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences)
2013 “Open Museum” a developing learning environment for adults (the Finnish Museums Association, Pori Art Museum, Satakunta Museum, the educational unit of Tampere museums TAITE, the Finnish Labour Museum Werstas, Museum of Technology and the CICERO Learning network/University of Helsinki)
2012 “Art leaves a trace” (Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova museum, Turku Municipal Social Services and Health Care Department, and The Finnish Work Environment Fund)
